The Filter Rooms is situated inside a Nuclear Bunker in Borras, 1 mile from Wrexham and 8 miles from Chester

Built in 1962, Borras was the Royal Observer Corps' No.17 Group HQ, in the UKWMO Western Sector and was the first place to detect the Chernobyl disaster on the 26th of April 1986

It was decommissioned in 1992 and soon after the main observatory room was turned into a recording studio by K Klass. In 2006, an extensive renovation project of the entire building began, to create live rooms to accommodate bands, musicians and artists, as well as continue with the successful remix projects. Rewiring and renovation was completed in 2008.

Apart from the 13 rooms on the ground floor of the building, and one room upstairs (Studio 4) there are rumours that there are more secret rooms underground. Intriguingly, during our final renovations in our Leads room corridor under the stairs, we have recently uncovered some “concrete” evidence to support this!!
